A Note from the Founder
Over the years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside leaders who arrived at our conversations accomplished, deeply committed, and quietly exhausted. Again and again, I noticed the same pattern. Their greatest challenge wasn't a lack of strategy. It was a lack of stewardship. That realization became one of the seeds that would later grow into Energy Stewardship™.
Something has shifted. The leaders I meet today are no less capable than those I met years ago — but many are carrying far more than their bodies, minds, and spirits were ever designed to sustain. AI is accelerating. Expectations continue to rise. Yet amid all the conversations about innovation and productivity, very little attention is being given to the human capacity required to carry it all.
Sustainable leadership is not a strategy problem. It is a stewardship problem.
1. The Workplace Conversation Has Changed
Leadership expectations are accelerating. AI is reshaping workflows overnight. Organizational change is constant. Workforce uncertainty is a daily reality. Leaders are being asked to hold more complexity, more change, and more people than any generation before them — often with fewer resources and less quiet.
What used to be considered exceptional performance is now the baseline. The pace of expectation has quietly outrun the pace of human sustainability.
2. The Data Behind the Leadership Challenge
The 2026 Toxic Workplace Trends Report and related leadership research reveal a consistent pattern: employees and executives alike report rising burnout, eroded trust, chronic overwhelm, and a growing sense that the culture around them is quietly costing them something they can't quite name.
These are not simply leadership statistics. They are capacity statistics. Behind every disengaged team, every quiet resignation, every leader running on fumes — there is a human body absorbing what the culture cannot resolve.
The iHire 2026 Toxic Workplace Trends Report identified burnout and toxic workplace culture among the leading reasons professionals are leaving their roles — with leaders themselves reporting that the environment they're expected to hold is the very one draining them.
The Gallup State of the Global Workplace: 2025 Report confirms the same trajectory on a global scale: employee engagement has declined for a second consecutive year, while stress, worry, and burnout remain at historically high levels. These numbers do not describe a workforce that has stopped caring. They describe a workforce whose capacity is being spent faster than it is being restored.
Gallup frames the conversation around engagement and wellbeing. Energy Stewardship™ frames it one layer deeper: disengagement is not only a culture problem — it is a capacity problem, and capacity is a body problem.
Research on AI-related burnout among leaders tells a similar story. The tools are accelerating. The humans are depleting.
3. The AI Acceleration Gap
There is a growing gap between what leaders are being asked to carry and what the human nervous system was designed to sustain.
We are accelerating expectations while neglecting the biological capacity required to sustain them.
No dashboard, no productivity system, and no leadership framework can override what the body is quietly reporting: chronic stress, disrupted sleep, hormonal shifts, inflammation, fatigue that rest doesn't resolve, and the slow erosion of clarity, patience, and joy. These are not personal failures. They are predictable outcomes of asking a finite body to sustain an infinite pace.
4. Introducing Energy Stewardship™
Energy Stewardship™ is the philosophy that connects leadership, health, and sustainable capacity. It reframes wellness not as a personal indulgence, but as a leadership responsibility — the faithful care of the mind, body, and spirit God has entrusted to us.
Leadership does not begin in the boardroom. It begins long before — in the quiet places where a leader either honors or overrides what their body is communicating. The most influential leaders of the next decade will not be the ones who push hardest. They will be the ones who steward best.
Culture begins to reflect what has first been practiced personally: Energy Stewardship™ in action — greater energy capacity, compassionate care, and faithful stewardship.
That stewardship has a practice. And every meaningful practice begins by learning to listen.
5. Take Your P.U.L.S.E.™
P.U.L.S.E.™ — Practice Unlimited Love with Self-Evaluation™ — is a reflection practice, not a test. It is an invitation to pause and listen to what your mind, body, and spirit may be communicating across the five domains of your energy: spiritual, mental, physical, relational, and environmental.
Imagine a leader pausing after a difficult meeting to ask, "Why did I respond that way?" That quiet moment of reflection is more than self-awareness. It is stewardship. Listening before reacting often reveals what busyness has been trying to hide.
For leaders, this is often the missing conversation. Strategy asks, what needs to be done? Stewardship asks, what is being communicated? Both matter. Only one is being widely practiced.
When you're ready, the full P.U.L.S.E.™ framework is available as a quiet, guided reflection on the Ultimate Wellness Journey™ website.
